Program Data and Systems Lead

Unitywater
$123,988 - $156,997 a year
Queensland
Full time
  • Lead the way in optimising critical systems and processes
  • Use data and insights to drive program efficiency and outcomes
  • Be part of a purpose-driven organisation working closely with our partners

About us:
Unitywater operates in one of Australia’s most exceptional environments in terms of natural beauty, geographical and demographic breadth. We operate on Kabi Kabi, Jinibara and Turrbal Country, proudly providing safe and reliable water to customers in Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa. We are a water utility serving one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
We think a pretty good job starts here.

About the role:
We’re looking for a Program Data and Systems Lead to play a key role in managing and optimising the systems and data that underpin our $1.8 billion Capital Program.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for ensuring our program management systems and data are accurate, reliable and driving smarter decisions. Working as part of the Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) Program Delivery Office and our framework partners, you’ll:
  • Act as the business system lead for key program management systems – driving improvements, testing changes, and supporting users in transformative, new ways of working.
  • Provide hands-on support for program systems, working with T&DS and UW vendors to keep data and processes running smoothly.
  • Own and manage program control data sets, ensuring decision makers have accurate and timely insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to map, analyse and improve business processes.
  • Develop new reporting tools, analytics and dashboards (including Power BI) to enhance visibility and decision making.
  • Maintain clear documentation for systems, processes and updates.
  • Champion continuous improvement in how we use systems and data to optimise program outcomes.
This is a role for someone who enjoys blending technical expertise with collaboration and leadership. You’ll have the chance to influence how data and systems shape the success of one of Queensland’s most significant infrastructure programs, while building strong connections across Unitywater and partner organisations.

About you:
Our One Unitywater behaviours - Create the Future, Care Together, and Own It – define how we work together at Unitywater. To contribute to this, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
  • Proven hands-on experience with business systems, data management and process optimisation.
  • Qualification in PRINCE2 MSP project and program management or equivalent; coupled with other relevant industry qualifications.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders to translate business needs into practical system and data solutions.
  • Experience developing new functionality using low-code platforms (e.g. Microsoft/ServiceNow).
  • Strong knowledge of data provenance, quality management, reporting and dashboarding (including Power BI).
  • Experience leading testing, training, change management and adoption of system improvements.
  • A collaborative, systems-thinking mindset with the ability to influence culture and optimise processes.

Working at Unitywater:
As a Unitywater team member you will enjoy a range of benefits:
  • Flexibility: We value flexibility and support work-life balance with hybrid and flexible working, purchased annual leave and access to floating public holidays. Tell us what this looks like for you!
  • Wellbeing: We offer several initiatives to support your wellbeing, such as discounted private health insurance, salary packaging, employee assistance program, and access to retailer discounts and benefits.
  • Learning and Development: We offer a range of opportunities to feed your curiosity such as: Walk on Country experience, study assistance, and access to a dedicated learning program and professional memberships.
