Working collaboratively across the Department and Council, the Program Leader Community Events and Activation will be the operational lead, coordinator and central point-of-contact for a range of Council-led community events and provide leadership and coordination in development and curation of community activation projects across the Isaac region aligned to organisational priorities. The role also provides support in the coordination and delivery of effective community engagement and development strategies to the broader department (Community Hubs and Community Development streams).

- Demonstrated experience in event management, including planning and priority management, record keeping, budgeting and procurement.
- Experience in developing and implementing community engagement and participation programs, preferably with experience in leading and facilitating engagement activities.
- Knowledge of diverse regional communities, their challenges and community drivers (or ability to rapidly acquire).
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in event management, including event planning, delivery and priority management; record keeping, budgeting and procurement.
- Well-developed knowledge and skills in community engagement and participation practice.
- Sound knowledge of community and social development principles.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work individually and as an effective team member with a continuous improvement approach.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and organisational skills.
For this position we offer:
- Base Salary $99,922.73 per annum (Stream A, Level 6)
- Full Time, Permanent Position
- Based in the Isaac Region
- 5 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% loading
