About the role
At Deakin, we’re delivering the future—integrating cutting-edge digital solutions with world-class physical infrastructure to create seamless, customer-focused experiences. We’re looking for a Project Analyst to join our Portfolio Delivery team, supporting the planning, delivery and analysis of transformative projects that shape how our university works, learns and connects.
In this role, your analysis skills will be the bridge between ideas and execution—working closely with Portfolio Delivery leaders, technical teams and stakeholders to ensure projects achieve their objectives. Your expertise in business analysis, data-driven insights and performance tracking will help deliver impactful, customer-centric outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting with the discovery process for new ideas and initiatives, providing facilitation, constructive challenge and a focus on the desired value.
- Eliciting, documenting and managing business requirements for change, ensuring clarity, consensus and traceability.
- Process modelling as-is and to-be states.
- Providing end-to-end analysis support throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Analysis of data to support requirements definition and project delivery.
- Building effective relationships and connections with a range of stakeholders from senior University staff, delivery professionals and external partners.
- Delivering analysis for both digital and physical infrastructure teams on a diverse portfolio of projects.
- Assisting with detailed project planning, including scheduling, resource allocation and dependency management.
- Distilling complex information into concise, easy-to-understand artefacts for a wide range of audiences.
- Supporting change practices through effective reporting, governance, change management, and capability building if required.
About you
You are a curious and detail-oriented problem solver with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and a knack for connecting people, processes and technology. You thrive in complex environments, can navigate between technical and non-technical contexts and are committed to continuous improvement.
You bring:
- Postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards them) with extensive relevant experience, or a combination of significant professional expertise and relevant training in areas such as engineering, IT, project management, or business.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience in business or project analysis within physical and/or digital development environments.
- Solid understanding of IT systems and/or the principles of physical infrastructure.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach with a passion for delivering projects that make a meaningful difference.
