A VPS 5 position is available in the Barwon Area to oversee the continued implementation of The Geelong Project and to strengthen embedding School Wide Positive Behaviour Support across schools in the Barwon Area. The successful applicant will have strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills and have good understanding of School Wide Positive Behaviour Support. You will be required to work extensively with internal and external stakeholders, including schools and partner organisation Meli. Recent experience working in a school setting would be of benifit to the role.
About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be required to facilitate and build effective working relationships between the community, a range of cross Government and service delivery stakeholders and schools to coordinate delivery of TGP and support the implementation of School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), and other place-based approaches to improve student engagement, and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will facilitate coordination with relevant internal programs within the Barwon Area, including Health Wellbeing and Engagement, Navigator, Mental Health Practitioners, Secondary School Nurses, School Focused Youth Services and Education Justice Initiative to align with the implementation of TGP and support schools to implement SWPBS with fidelity; including action planning, technical assistance, problem solving and data-based decision making.
The successful appointee will be confident and successful in working with a variety of stakeholders including school, Area and Regional leadership, principals, teachers, support staff, students, families and the local school community.
