About the Departments:
The RCHIM leads Health Information Services (HIS) across both sites, supporting service delivery throughout East Gippsland.
Fleet vehicles support travel and remote work via MS Teams.
HIS teams ensure accurate records to support patient care, including:
- Medical record management and storage (physical + electronic)
- Record retrieval and authorised FOI and legal release
- Oversight of Clinical Coding to ICD-10-AM Standards
About the Role:
This senior role leads HIS at both sites. Key Responsibilities include:
- Staff leadership and workforce planning
- Ensuring data quality, record management and compliance
- Overseeing clinical coding, VAED and VEMD reporting
- Supporting EMR systems, documentation and staff training
- Managing FOI and Privacy compliance
- Fostering collaboration across departments
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Health Information Management qualification and HIMAA eligibility
- 5+ years in a similar role
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills
- Experience in change and project management
- Solid understanding of governance, probity and confidentiality
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to HIS and Health Records
- Advanced ICD-10-AM coding; DRG and URG classification knowledge
