Regional Manager Home Lending

Great Southern Bank
$110,784 - $140,277 a year
Melbourne, Victoria

In partnership with Sales Excellence and Virtual Sales teams, you will help shape consistent, scalable ways of working while enabling your lenders to grow their portfolios, deepen customer relationships, and contribute to the Bank’s ambition of helping more Australians own their own home

You’ll make an impact by:

You will lead day-to-day delivery of lending outcomes across your region—embedding the sales strategy, lifting banker capability, managing performance, and removing barriers to success. You’ll provide hands-on coaching and mentoring while ensuring alignment to scorecards, risk frameworks, and the Bank’s customer-first approach.

Deliver regional lending volume, margin, and productivity outcomes aligned to national targets.

  • Provide hands-on coaching and support to help lenders meet and exceed individual scorecard objectives.
  • Monitor pipeline health and conversion metrics, ensuring disciplined opportunity management and proactive follow-up.
  • Champion a strong sales rhythm, with effective daily huddles, weekly performance reviews, and structured coaching sessions.
  • Drive a customer-first mindset, embedding quality conversations and needs-based lending practices

Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within your team.

  • Use insights, scorecard data, and field coaching observations to tailor development plans and training support.
  • Partner with Sales Excellence to uplift capability in areas such as proactive calling, customer needs discovery, digital enablement, and compliance.
  • Support onboarding and development of new lenders, embedding a consistent induction and early success framework.

Ensure high standards of compliance and responsible lending practices across all applications.

  • Monitor application quality, deal structuring, and documentation standards to minimise rework and mitigate credit and operational risk.
  • Identify opportunities for Credit Policy changes to strengthen the banks mortgage portfolio
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness, ensuring adherence to AML, KYC, and conduct obligations.
  • Act as the first line of support for issue resolution, customer complaints, or escalation of complex lending matters.

Translate strategic priorities into clear regional execution plans.

  • Collaborate with Virtual Sales, Credit, and Operations teams to resolve friction points and streamline the end-to-end lending process.
  • Identify process gaps or system opportunities that impact lender performance or customer experience.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and feedback loops to enhance our frontline model

Do things differently with us

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build high performing teams.
  • Proven experience in home lending, sales leadership, or branch-based lending environments.
  • Strong track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering sustainable sales results.
  • Deep understanding of lending processes, compliance obligations, and customer-centric sales practices.
  • Skilled in performance management, frontline coaching, and capability development.
  • Ability to influence across teams, build strong relationships, and drive operational follow-through. Strong track record in customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value optimisation.
  • Extensive experience in complex stakeholder engagement, including executive leadership, brokers, regulators, and industry partners.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with expertise in financial performance management, pricing strategy, and revenue optimisation.
  • Track record of business transformation and growth leadership, driving digital and operational innovation
