The Opportunity
The Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering is seeking applications for a Level A Research Fellow to contribute to a high-impact research project in the field of quantum information and optimisation.
This position is part of the Australian Research Council funded Discovery Project titled “Exploiting duality in quantum relative entropy optimisation.” The successful candidate will be involved in developing new mathematical theory and designing and implementing optimisation algorithms relevant to quantum information.
The Research Fellow will undertake independent research aligned with the goals of the project, under the guidance of leading researchers, Dr James Saunderson (Monash University) and Professor Hamza Fawzi (University of Cambridge).
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career researcher passionate about advancing the theory and application of quantum information and optimisation.
We strongly encourage applications from candidates with a background in:
- Mathematical optimisation
- Quantum information theory
- Computational mathematics or related fields
