About the opportunity

The Sydney School of Health Sciences is in a period of exciting and significant investment by the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The university is seeking to employee a Project Manager (HEO 6) to contribute to the project Brighter Beginnings in Western Sydney Local Health District.

The Australian Early Development Census identified that almost 20% of children in the first year of school were vulnerable on one or more developmental domains. Furthermore, these children are at a greater risk of poorer health, wellbeing and academic outcomes.

The aim of the larger Brighter Beginnings Initiative is to support families to make informed and timely decisions, provide additional support to families in need of support and provide improved universal services to benefit all.

Through universal developmental screenings, Brighter Beginnings intends to reach families who have not otherwise engaged in health services but who require these services, having particular focus on families who may be less likely to participate in universal screening including families in areas of high socioeconomic disadvantage, communities with high cultural and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
