This position combines casual retail hours in our Boutique Store with unique opportunities in Content Creation as our Marketing Assistant.
We are looking for fashion-forward individuals with initiative, confidence on social media, natural communication skills, and strong attention to detail. We value creativity, exceptional people skills (especially in sales), a strong work ethic, teamwork, and enthusiastic learners who thrive in demanding situations. This retail role includes full training in the craft of leather monogramming as well as opportunities to create and upload content -such as Canva designs and Reels/TikTok videos - to promote our brand.

Our vision is to make leather monogramming inclusive and accessible. Personalisation should be a luxury that everyone can enjoy - not just those who can afford it. That’s why we opened our retail store in Sydney’s Hills / North West suburb of Rouse Hill. We offer free on-the-spot monogramming on a range of leather accessories, inspiring customers to begin their own “Personalised Life” with timeless, minimalist pieces that last.
Hugh and Hyde is a small business at heart. Founded in 2019 from a bedroom by Director and Owner Denisa, the brand has grown from market stalls and pop-ups to an online store and, in 2024, our Boutique Store.

Your Role with Us
As our Retail Casual, you will:
- Connect customers to our brand and accessories
- Showcase our Leather Collection and promote features and benefits
- Deliver premium customer service, visual merchandising, and brand inspiration
- Convert browsers into loyal customers
- Work collaboratively to meet sales targets and KPIs
- Personalise leather accessories using professional embossing machines
- Merchandise products and maintain a clean, aesthetic store environment
- Replenish stock according to company standards
- Handle and process sales using our POS system
- Record and communicate daily sales reports
- Receive, package, and dispatch online orders with meticulous quality control
- Manage inventory and conduct regular stocktakes
- Provide and document key reports on sales, conversion, top products, online sessions, customer behaviour, AOV, and returning customer rates
- Process and analyse data on Shopify and Instagram
As our Marketing Assistant, you role may include but is not limited to:
- Creating content deliverables including graphics, carousels, Reels, posters, and social assets, on a regular basis.
- Working In
- Planning, capturing, and uploading high-quality content showcasing products, services, and in-store experiences
- Posting timely content during live events or busy periods
- Engaging with comments, messages, and inquiries professionally
- Writing compelling captions and stories highlighting our craftsmanship, monogramming experience, behind-the-scenes, and team culture
- Staying up-to-date with trends to enhance brand visibility
- Collaborating with the in-store team to align promotions and daily store highlights
- Featuring customer purchases and personalised items for social proof
- Tracking performance metrics and provide insights to improve results
- Balancing your role as a Retail Casual with your content creation tasks, whilst simultaneously working and rostered on in our Boutique Store.
Requirements for this Role:
- Full weekday availability from September 2025 to January 2026 (some flexibility may be granted)
- 1 year of retail experience
- Experience with social media content creation (Instagram, Canva) highly preferred
- A genuine passion for growing a small business end-to-end
- An obsession with personalised and monogrammed accessories
- A strong work ethic and pride in your work
It is strongly recommended that you have:
- A proactive “gets it done” attitude without needing to be asked twice
- Drive to meet deadlines and metrics
- Reliability and commitment, with flexibility to occasionally stay back to finish tasks
- Professional and timely communication skills (email, text, WhatsApp, calls, etc.)
- Commitment to fashion and elevated style
- An eye for minimalist and aesthetic detail
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn new skills outside your comfort zone
- Confidence to show up authentically on social media
