An exciting opportunity exists for a senior ACEM trainee to work at Redcliffe Emergency Department and with RFDS Queensland Section in 2026.
The role is a full-time position, 0.5 FTE at Redcliffe ED and 0.5 FTE with RFDS. Duration of the rotation can be 6 months or 12 months.
During the rotation, the trainee will gain experience working in a well-supported busy outer metropolitan ED (annual census > 75,000 patients, 20% paediatrics) with access to a successful Fellowship Written and OSCE program as well as opportunities to fulfil other training requirements such as WBAs and Q&I activities. The trainee will also gain experience working for the iconic Royal Flying Doctors Service in a FIFO role to Mt Isa base (and potentially to other bases) participating in aeromedical retrievals of critically unwell patients across Queensland. The trainee will be oriented well to both. Both sites are TS4 accredited.
Key Criteria
- ACEM TS4 trainee (suitably experienced TS3 trainees will be considered)
- Experience in ICU, Anaesthetics, and Paediatrics sufficient to meet credentialling requirements
- Aeromedical experience welcomed but not mandatory
- Excellent communication, team-working skills, commitment to high quality patient care and compliance with professional obligations and ethics, and interest in retrieval medicine
