Join our Softwood Plantation Division as a Roading Planner in a fantastic full-time permanent role. About the role:
The Tumut Region of FCNSW manages 5,791kms of roads and trails, about 90km of which are sealed. These roads form the backbone of the transport network that supports a large forest industry.
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate Roading Planner to join our diverse and dynamic team. This role is responsible for overseeing and producing operational maps and plans that align with business requirements and contractual supply obligations. The role will also ensure compliance outcomes are met in line with operational field assessments.
We would love you to have:
• Diploma/Degree in project management, road planning, civil engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to lead and manage a small team
• Proven organisational skills - ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, project management tools.
• Experience in and/or willingness to learn Geographic Information Systems for Mapping.
• Knowledge and/or understanding of forestry management and protection, which may include weed and pest control, fire management, planning and suppression, and silviculture.
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to safety within an operational environment
• Experience in developing written operational plans within the context of multiple priorities and stakeholders and performance reporting.
• Capacity and willingness to undertake fire roster duties, fire fighting, work extended hours, and to maintain sufficient fitness for the job.
• Have a current driver’s licence.
