About the opportunity
The School of Social and Political Sciences (SSPS) is seeking a School Communications and Events Officer to produce high quality, timely and effective communications and promotional outcomes for the School.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- develop, maintain and update websites and digital content using University-approved templates, ensuring accuracy, usability, and adherence to brand guidelines
- create promotional materials in print and digital formats, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to meet deadlines and budgets
- maintain strong relationships across the School, Faculty, and University departments to optimise communication efforts and promotional strategies
- produce School publications, promote School achievements and organise key events such as ceremonies, conferences and workshops.
About you
- demonstrated ability in the production of a broad range of high-quality print and digital communication and promotion materials to support strategic objectives
- excellent planning, organisational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a high-volume environment
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write, edit and proof publications for diverse audience
- strong problem solving and analytical skills, as well as an ability to use initiative and exercise judgment
- well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients and key contacts across the University
- extensive knowledge of and experience with web authoring, including knowledge of web design, information architecture, search engine optimisation
- extensive knowledge of and experience with current electronic publishing technology, including high level desktop publishing skills in the Adobe Creative Site: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
