Nepean Hospital is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scientific Officer to join our dynamic Respiratory Medicine team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital diagnostic services that support the health and wellbeing of our local community.
As a Scientific Officer, you will perform high-quality respiratory function testing and contribute to the operation of our Lung Function Laboratory. Your work will play a crucial role in the diagnosis, monitoring and management of respiratory conditions across a wide range of patient groups.

What you will bring to the role
- A degree in the Bachelor of Science or equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with the equipment and methods/procedures for measuring a variety of high-quality cardiopulmonary investigations as part of the newly formed Critical Care and Cardiopulmonary Research unit.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and administrative skills.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Commitment to excellence and continuous quality improvement.
- Possession of the Certified Respiratory Function Scientist (CRFS) Credential issued by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science is highly desirable but not mandatory.
