About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an opportunity for a Security Lead – Information Security based at our Flinders Street Offices, SA with occasional local and national travel for business purposes. As the Security Lead you will be responsible for contributing to the Security Function as a senior security team member in delivering all aspects of security risk management and implementation in accordance with the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), the Defence Industry Security Office (DISO) and Company policy requirements for the AUKUS program.

Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement security processes guidelines in support of Policy and Standards requirements, and supervise all aspects of operational security for the business area in line with local security strategy, policies, standards and best practice.
- Review and improve frameworks and functional processes aimed at developing and enhancing best practices and integrating efficient security solutions for the security environment.
- Manage security risk assessments and mitigation strategies in line with BAE Systems Australia standards and policy, as well as coordinating with Defence contractor owners as needed.
- Support and manage the security incident process, ensuring the reporting meets mandated timelines with coordinated security investigations.
- Manage, develop and support a team of Security individuals.
- Support and manage the operational security compliance activities.
- Manage security tasks and security services based on relevant policies, standards, procedures, legislation Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and best practice of the assigned work stream.
About YOU
- Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2[ Defence Security & ITAR clearance required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong experience in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
- Demonstrated experience in security and or a Defence Industry role, including sound knowledge of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), and the ability to inform and understand BAE Systems Australia’s Company policy and procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding and experience in relation to the implementation of security policy and process.
- Working knowledge of Cyber Security Policy and standards.
- Sound knowledge of Physical, Personnel and Information Security.
- Must hold or be able to gain a current Department of Defence Certificate in Security Officer Training.
- Sound knowledge in handling of physical assets and document security in relation to classified projects.
- Completion of the Commonwealth COMSEC course would be desirable.
