About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting to join our close-knit Finance Solutions team. In this fast-paced, permanent role, you will be responsible for supporting the Manager Financial Reporting and Governance in the governance and coordination of the year-end financial reporting process and maintenance of the financial reporting software solution.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Management of the year-end financial reporting process via management of timelines and stakeholders, including external auditors, ensuring the timely completion of financial statement
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure financial reports are prepared in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Managing the implementation and operation of financial reporting processes and controls in accordance with QIC’s policies and standards.
- Maintenance of the financial reporting templates within the financial reporting software solution,
- Preparing audit committee and other reporting committee reports.
- Managing the audit engagement and representation letter processes, audit fee schedules and allocations.
About You
This role requires strong understanding of financial reporting principles, the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, as well as the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines. You are agile and able to pivot with changing priorities. You will have a solid accounting background, with strong stakeholder management skills and proven ability to manage up. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years experience in audit, financial reporting or related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
