About the team and the role
As the largest team at SYD Airport, Group Operations influence the passengers experience from kerbside to take-off. Together, they proudly lead a world class operation that delivers memorable passenger experience every day. In a safe, secure, and seamless environment.
Reporting to the Corporate Systems Manager, the Senior Technical Analyst will provide Technology Systems Support for Sydney Airport’s corporate systems and provide consultancy for Business Process system integration.
The role involves managing and providing expertise for platforms like Oracle E-Business Suite and Salesforce, supporting corporate information systems, and coordinating with Technology teams, business units, and external vendors.
Please note this is a 12-month fixed term role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Provide expertise and technical support for corporate system applications including a mix of both SAAS and On-Prem systems. Examples of applications include Oracle EBS, Salesforce, SAP Success Factors, and OpenText.
- Recommend ongoing continuous improvements for business priorities using existing applications and provide applications and business process support.
- Monitor and resolve corporate application issues via the Technology Service Desk, including on-site support for bug fixes, upgrades, and custom development.
- Establish effective relationships with Technology and business peers to exchange ideas and solutions.
- Represent the corporate systems team on projects, offering SME advice and resolving issues with internal customers, suppliers, and project teams.
- Advise decision-makers on action steps for support services and projects, negotiating to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Manage application user accounts and privileges per Technology Policies and security plans.
- Train users in Technology systems procedures and business processes.
- Analyse and gather detailed business requirements.
- Raise and manage incidents, problem tasks, and changes related to corporate applications.
- Participate in the Technology “on-call” roster to support critical incidents outside business hours.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Technology or Business (with significant Technology content).
- Substantial knowledge of Technology Systems and Business Processes in Financial Management, Billing, Revenue Recognition, HR, and Business Information Systems.
- Generalist experience with corporate applications and business processes, especially in financial management, HR management, and CRM, with specific expertise in Oracle EBS, Salesforce, or SAP highly regarded.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments, with or without structured support processes, and high-level skills in documenting and translating business systems and processes into Technology Functional specifications.
- Broad skills in full life-cycle systems analysis, implementation, testing, training, and support, with the ability to coordinate contributions from self and others, including senior specialists.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively at all levels, anticipate and manage sensitive issues, and establish and maintain productive working relationships.
- Extensive knowledge of Technology architectures, interrelationships of multiple Technology specialties, and Technology security concepts, with advanced knowledge of internal customer consulting and project techniques.
- Understanding and ability to read technical software code to help identify and troubleshoot system issues.
