Direct responsibility for the safe and efficient completion of all assigned production, service and other related tasks in accordance with relevant company procedures and instructions.
Key activities may include:
- Comply with and support of HSE & Quality practices in accordance with company policy.
- Conduct the overhaul, repair, modification and/or test of products in accordance with relevant work instructions, test specifications, drawings, bulletins, safety and quality requirements.
- Ensure all relevant documentation specific to the tasks and production processes are completed accurately and in full per requirements.
- Conduct and/or participate in the troubleshooting of faults, investigations and inspections relevant to production related safety, quality, process and technical matters.
- Escalate to the Production Supervisor any safety, quality, process or technical issues that arise.
- Make recommendations to the Production Supervisor any safety, quality, process or technical improvement ideas.
- Support other Production team members with any relevant production process, procedures, and technical knowledge to support the achievement of production team goals.
- Actively participate in team meetings and training.
- Ensure the working environment is always maintained in a clean and safe condition.
- Clean, store & maintain tooling, plant & equipment to ensure proper and safe functioning.
- Comply with and support of continuous improvement, lean and 5S initiatives.
- Take ownership of responsibilities and actively contribute towards the achievement of production performance goals, delivery timeframes and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willing to work outside or beyond normal hours to support production requirements.
- Domestic or International travel may be required.
- Perform other related duties as required to support production requirements.
Essential Experience
- Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical/Electrical Trade and/or higher.
- Two years or more related trade experience in a manufacturing or services environment.
- Current Driver’s license.
Desirable Experience
- An understanding of the rail industry framework & related technical issues that arise.
- Previous experience completing overhaul, repairs and testing to air brake equipment installed on Passenger, Locomotive and Freight rollingstock.
- Currently Hold or willing to obtain qualifications for – Forklift, Overhead Gantry Crane, First Aid, Fire Warden, Rail Industry Worker.
