Your Next Role

The Site Optimisation Lead ensures efficient saw and fibre optimisation, quality control, and process improvements to meet customer delivery targets. This role supports data analysis for optimisation projects, conducts quality inspections, manages inventory, and develops process documentation. Initially focused on the Greenmill, you will lead, recommend, and implement site-wide improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.

  • A service-oriented approach ensures strong working relationships and effective stakeholder support through adaptations, upgrades, and changes.
  • Clear, proactive communication with site leaders and optimisation stakeholders drives continuous improvement.
  • Systems are monitored, calibrated, and maintained for optimal performance across acoustic, scanning, identification, trimming, testing, and grading systems.
  • A culture of optimisation is fostered through measurable targets that maximise log yield while meeting customer expectations.
  • Operators and leaders are informed, engaged, and empowered to troubleshoot and maintain optimisation systems with confidence.
  • Processes and procedures for key systems are regularly reviewed, developed, and maintained.
You will be based at our plant in Tumbarumba, NSW. This idyllic country town offers affordable living and the opportunity to be a part of a supportive community of people and is situated within 90 minutes drive of Wagga Wagga & Albury.

About you
  • Demonstrated experience in collaboration / influence with key stakeholders.
  • Mechanically minded with good problem-solving skills and technical aptitude is required.
  • Experience in sawmilling is advantageous.
  • Trade measurement verifier with the National Measurement Institute or ability to acquire.
  • Experience with vision scanning and timber grading technologies and equipment is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with timber testing is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, or JIT (Just In Time) advantageous.
