About the role

Provide acute care and medicated withdrawal management or stabilisation for people who are dependent on alcohol, sedatives, hypnotics, opiates and other psychoactive drugs.The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality core social work interventions as a member of a multidisciplinary team to consumers with substance use issues, who have been admitted for withdrawal or medical stabilisation.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
Demonstrated communication, team participation skills including the ability to influence a range of stakeholders to promote positive workplace culture and improve access to mental health services.
Participate in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols and other quality and service improvement and research activities within the Mental Health Service to continually improve consumer care.
