Salary: $84,063 - $116,464 per annum plus super
The opportunity:
VCGS is seeking a dynamic and proactive Software Operations Lead to oversee the operation and support of our critical software systems and integrations. In this key leadership position, you’ll ensure the seamless performance of our clinical services across cloud and on-premise environments, while guiding a dedicated team within the Software Systems and Integration (SSI) Unit.
You'll work closely with cross-functional teams—spanning clinical bioinformatics, pathology, IT, and research—to maintain high availability, performance, and quality across VCGS software platforms.
Your responsibilities include:
Lead the SSI operations team and ensure effective system monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
Manage incident response, service triaging, and ongoing stakeholder communication.
Develop and oversee software maintenance processes to optimise system health and performance.
Collaborate with project leads on service delivery improvements and new technology integration.
Produce operational reports and implement strategies to enhance internal and external user experience.
Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and innovation within your team.

You will ideally have:
Demonstrated experience in software or IT operations leadership.
Strong background in incident management, service delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge of both cloud-based and local system environments.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
