- Empower Victim-Survivors: Provide crucial case management and outreach support to individuals and families impacted by family violence, guiding them towards safety and self-reliance.
- Connect to Vital Resources: Facilitate access to essential community resources, including legal aid, healthcare, counselling, housing, and financial assistance, ensuring comprehensive support.
- Advocate for Client Needs: Work collaboratively with victim-survivors to identify their unique needs and develop tailored strategies within a supportive case management framework.
- Champion Safety & Dignity: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, safety, rights, and dignity for all service users, fostering a secure and respectful environment.
- Strengthen Community Networks: Build and maintain vital partnerships with government and non-government agencies, ensuring an integrated and responsive service system for those escaping family violence.
The Ideal Candidate will bring:
- Expertise in Risk Management: You’ll excel at identifying, assessing, and managing family violence risk effectively, ensuring ongoing safety and promoting accountability.
- Strategic Case Management: You possess the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary case management plans, adapting them as needed and fostering collaborative, cross-sector practice.
- Advocacy for Systemic Change: You are passionate about advocating for legislative and policy reform and increasing community awareness to drive meaningful change in family violence prevention and response.
- Commitment to Feminist Principles: You have a demonstrable understanding of and commitment to feminist philosophy, alongside a deep awareness of the social and political issues affecting women and children impacted by family violence.
- Skilled Engagement & Empathy: You can effectively engage with diverse communities and individuals experiencing family violence, drawing on your proven case management experience and understanding of relevant frameworks.
- Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence |Working with Children Check |Police Check.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work (or trauma related field) and experience appropriate to the field (refer to Position Description).
