We are a busy Respiratory and Sleep Clinic at the Greenslopes Private Hospital. We are seeking a hardworking, motivated and experienced part time medical administrative officer to join our practice. This is a part time position in a team environment with 2 other administration staff, 3 specialists and a physiotherapist.
Your responsibilities include:
- Maintain a high level of verbal and written communication with our patients, hospital staff and 3rd party clinic contacts in a timely, polite and consistent manner
- Booking patient clinic appointments
- Booking 3rd party testing in for patients
- Billing patients, Medicare and private health funds
- Banking of clinic cash and cheques
- Sending out and receiving clinic correspondence via Medical Objects, Email, Fax and Mail. This includes scanning of incoming reports and results.
- Stock ordering of clinical and office supplies
- General cleaning of the clinic
- General administration tasks to assist the specialists and our physiotherapist
- The ability to cover extra shifts or adjust work hours during certain periods if required
This role would suit an individual who works well both independently and as part of team as they will be expected to work alone in the office as well as alongside other team members depending on the day. The administration staff are expected to cover sick and holiday leave within the team. Regular hours are 12-18 hours per week.
Skills should include:
- At least 2 years experience in medical administration
- High level of computer skills (MAC experience preferred)
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Experience with patient management software (Genie preferred)
- Experience billing via eclipse and Medicare
- Experience using PRODA
- Experience with Medical Objects
