Wood is recruiting a Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer for an immediate start to contribute to a major brownfields Engineering Service Contract with a leading Oil & Gas operator. This short-term (6-month contract) role offers the chance to work on challenging offshore scopes, delivering impactful solutions from our Perth CBD office. Reporting to the Lead Structural Engineer, you will be working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design. To be successful in your Senior Structural Engineer role, you will have prior Senior engineer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, FPSO, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with offshore scope of work engagements.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Structural engineering activities across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, detailed design) to produce fit for fit-for-purpose solution
- Produce cost-effective Structural engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacks,
- Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
- Provide technical assistance to others when required

Expected:
You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location. If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.
Suitably qualified in Structural / Civil Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have proven experience working in a similar Senior Structural Engineering role, supported by at least 5 + years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and / or processing industries in Australia.
In addition, you will have:
- Experience in Offshore site environment and site surveying/scoping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the client
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise
- Experience in the use of relevant software packages (e.g. SACS, StaadPro)
- Experience in the use of API, AISC and ISO design codes.
- Be customer focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
Desirable:
What will set you apart is your prior experience with Offshore Brownfield EPCM and/ or FPSO projects, ranging from 5-10 years' equivalence.
