Get ready for action and splash colour into your life! Splatter painting – the action of splashing and throwing paint onto canvas - is safe, fun and accessible for all regardless of age or ability.
Kaboo Studio is looking for two new team members to join our busy studio in Bondi Junction, Sydney. We are looking for energetic people with a positive attitude who want to be part of our team and our journey to join us as we grow Kaboo Studio.
Responsibilities and duties
- Welcome and check in guests to the session, making them feel at ease whilst waiting and during sessions.
- Provide an overview and demonstration of action painting (one of the fun parts of the job!). Help guests choose their paint colours and tools. Provide tips and tricks and 1:1 assistance as necessary to provide guidance to guests to complete contemporary action art on canvas.
- Facilitate a positive and enjoyable guest experience during their time in the studio whilst keeping to a fixed time frame session.
- Manage the atmosphere by using A grade tunes and manage groups and individuals as appropriate to ensure a positive experience for all guests of different ages and abilities, including children with parents and all ability guests.
- Manage customer concerns and complaints in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Use social media platforms to illustrate the Kaboo Studio experience.
- Assist guests to purchase customised items based on their completed canvas. Scan and upload images and tailor digital customised product via electronic design platform.
- Complete point of sale transactions.
- Ensuring the readiness and cleanliness of the studio before, during and after the sessions.
- Respond to customer queries via email or phone.
- Following all policies and procedures, including set up/pack down, mandatory reporting including shift reporting, all reasonable directions from the Manager.
Qualifications and skills
You will be:
- An energetic team player with a positive attitude who wants to enjoy coming to work
- Punctual, organised, friendly and customer focussed
- Comfortable around people of all ages and all abilities
- Be confident and be able to speak clearly to a group of people of varying in ages and backgrounds – from children to corporate clients – when providing session overviews and demonstrating splashing techniques
- Be capable and comfortable with opening/closing the studio and running sessions as part of a team or independently
- Committed to having a positive impact and contributing to the growth of Kaboo Studio
- Don’t mind getting paint on you or your clothes!
You will have:
- A working with Children Check - required prior to role commencement
- Experience in painting/art - required
- An ability to face paint - required
- Experience in using Microsoft office suite – Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and ability to learn to use custom design software

General Retail Industry Award
