About the Opportunity:
We are excited to announce that Acciona has been awarded a major wharf infrastructure project at Port Hedland for Pilbara Ports Authority. This marks the first stage in the development of the
Lumsden Point General Cargo Facility and Logistics Hub
(LCGF), a transformative multi-user facility designed to:- Enable the export of critical minerals.
- Support the import of renewable energy infrastructure.
- Facilitate the import/export of general cargo.
- Accommodate the import of bulk liquids such as fuel and chemicals.
To help us deliver this project, we are now seeking a suitably experienced Civil Superintendent to join the team and provide leadership across the site while managing and monitoring the performance of the workforce and subcontractors to ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, industrial relations, safety and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained.
The successful candidate will be required to work in Port Hedland on a FIFO basis on a two week on, one week off roster.
Key accountabilities for the position:
- Build strong working relationships with workers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration and teamwork across all levels of the project.
- Provide expert advice on civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management strategies.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, allocate resources, monitor progress, and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assume a leadership role in the management of health, safety, and environmental concerns.
- Address issues related to industrial relations and their consequences while developing suitable resolutions.
- Proactively explore methods to enhance productivity through adjustments in sequencing, timing, or methodologies.
- Effectively communicate construction plans to supervisors and the general workforce.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated expertise in industry-specific trades and construction operations of comparable magnitude.
- Expert in problem-solving and contingency management, with a proven track record of successfully navigating even the most difficult and unprecedented challenges encountered during construction projects.
- Proficient in overseeing the performance of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour, while effectively managing people.
- Competent in the examination of design documentation, with the capability to interpret drawings, conduct constructability assessments, and execute final design plans.
- Extensive leadership background in risk management, fostering a proactive culture of risk mitigation and positive risk management.
