Position Summary
The In-Room Dining Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the service workflow for in-room dining and amenities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of excellence in deliverables.
The Role
- Oversee the delivery of an outstanding in-room dining experience by anticipating guest needs and providing knowledgeable service regarding our menu options, beverage selections, and daily specials.
- Inspire and lead your team with a clear vision, fostering a culture that reflects our commitment to high standards and exceptional service.
- Communicate expectations, recognise team performance, and ensure consistent delivery of desired business outcomes.
- Collaborate with the management team to oversee daily operations and guarantee adherence to service standards, departmental policies, and hotel procedures.
- Champion our menu offerings, providing guests with insightful recommendations and expertly curated food-and-beverage pairings.
- Interface with kitchen staff to manage timing for meal delivery, address special requests, and ensure product availability.
- Analyse guest feedback through comments, reviews, and direct interactions, using this input to drive continuous improvement in service quality.
- Empower team members to exceed guest expectations by taking ownership of their roles and embracing a proactive approach to service.
- Monitor team performance, offering effective feedback, recognition, and conducting performance appraisals.
- Mentor individual team members to promote growth, setting both short- and long-term goals to enhance engagement and fulfilment.
- Facilitate pre-service briefings in the absence of management.
- Ensure all opening and closing checklists are properly completed each day.
Talent Profile
- A General Education Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management with a focus on Restaurant Management is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Familiarity with restaurant systems such as Symphony or Seven Rooms.
- Exceptional communication skills paired with a passion for guest relations.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Willingness to work on a rotating shift basis, covering both morning and afternoon shifts
- Valid working rights in Australia.
