We are now seeking a Survey Technician to join our Underground Mining team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Accountable to the Senior Mine Surveyor.

This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8 days on/6 days off FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.


Accountabilities:

  • Taking an active approach to safety to ensure you and your team is in line with the company’s values, policies and procedures

  • Provide support to the survey team for surveying activities necessary for the safe achievement of targeted mine production of underground development, production, and drilling

  • Assist with onsite maintenance & calibration of survey equipment

  • Perform basic GPS surveys for excavation permits & construction projects

  • Perform office-based tasks under the direction of surveyors

  • Monitoring, maintenance and reporting for fully automated open pit wall stability system

  • Be an active team member contributing to business unit for delivery on critical tasks


About You

  • A formal qualification in Surveying is desirable, TAFE WA Certificate III in Surveying is desirable but not essential.

  • Previous experience in UG mining will be highly regarded.

  • Ability to perform routine tasks with minimal supervision given an initial period of training.

  • Able to work in both team environment and autonomously.

  • Familiarity with Windows based software.

  • Very good practical, planning and prioritising skills combined with the ability to build on the experience gained.

  • Eager to learn new skills with the potential to develop a career in surveying.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

  • Existing Australian working rights (Mandatory)
