About the Role
As the Systems Engineering and Integration Manager, you will lead a high-performing engineering team dedicated to delivering key outcomes across the Systems Engineering and Integration delivery stream.
Your leadership will foster a strong team culture while ensuring the successful and timely completion of complex engineering activities supporting the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System and related projects.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing technical quality and compliance across the full engineering lifecycle, with a focus on mission and support system design, integration, testing, and sustainment.
The role also includes planning and monitoring team deliverables, acting as Control Account Manager (CAM), and contributing to continuous business growth through tender and engineering change support.
About You
You are an experienced systems engineering leader with a track record of managing and integrating complex mission and support systems across the full engineering lifecycle.
Your technical judgement, grounded in hands-on experience, enables you to drive critical decisions and ensure effective integration, traceability, and verification of system requirements.
You have an in-depth understanding of system analysis, product integrity, safety standards, and have led multidisciplinary engineering teams through design, test, and acceptance phases.
Your leadership style is collaborative, future-focused, and aligned with Babcock’s commitment to delivering innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions for the defence sector.
- Extensive experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
- Proven ability to manage an applicable engineering function.
- An excellent understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
- Significant Systems Engineering experience within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) or the wider defence industry.
- Knowledge of security principles especially in High Frequency communications.
- Familiarity of ILS, RAM, Safety and E3 processes and requirements.
