About The Role
As a Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.
The teacher aide position will be working with Students with Disabilities who require extensive adjustments to access the school environment and learning.

Your Responsibilities
As the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting students with various complex learning needs, complex behaviours and complex medical needs
Supporting students from a range of backgrounds
Supporting students with toileting and health management needs (training provided)
Supporting students through the use of Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) and keyword signing
Supporting students in and out of the classroom, including during lunch times
1:1 support and small group work to access the curriculum
Supporting Students with Social/Emotional needs
Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher
Working with small groups as well as individual students
Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs
Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
You may also be called upon to:
Assist with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources
Undertake clerical assistance duties including typing teachers' notes and programs, photocopying teaching materials, collation and duplication of exam papers, recording of examination results, compiling students' results records, assisting in organising off-site activities
Assist in preparing, storing, distributing and clearing away teaching equipment and materials
Contribute to the welfare, health and safety of students, including the delivery of first aid
