Macarthur Girls High School (MGHS) is located in Parramatta, the demographic centre of Sydney on the banks of the Parramatta River. The school's reputation has created a demand for enrolment. Enrolment for 2024 was 1037. Over 92% of our students are from language backgrounds other than English. Student enrolments reflect the school's very positive reputation in the broader community. New students are drawn from more than 50 primary schools.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Business Studies and Commerce. Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in Business Services providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a Social Science faculty with evidence of developing quality teaching and learning programs, lessons and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, and families.
