Position Information
Young High School is a rural comprehensive high school located in Wiradjuri Country approximately under 4 hours south west of Sydney and under 2 hours from Canberra and Wagga Wagga. We have a strong focus on academic growth and developing resilience, empathy, acceptance and teamwork across the school community. The school has an enrolment of 500 students from diverse cultural backgrounds, including 13% Aboriginal students and an increasing Muslim student enrolment which is currently 8%. In addition, we have a support unit consisting of 4 support multicategorical (MC) classes. The school works closely with the local community. The school receives significant equity funding which allows for the introduction of new programs and initiatives to boost student-learning outcomes. Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Legal Studies (11-12), Business Studies (11-12), and Geography (7-10).
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the HSIE Faculty to design, implement and evaluate differentiated, innovative and engaging teaching and learning programs and assessments that cater for diverse student needs and improve learning outcomes.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community.
- Demonstrated ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
