The Paediatric Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician is responsible for skilfully performing all tests associated with clinical neurophysiological investigations and monitoring including interpreting normal and abnormal test results with appropriate follow up action.


The ISLHD Paediatric EEG service is part of the Wollongong Hospital Paediatric Service and produces diagnostic electrophysiological services to referred neonatal, paediatric and adolescent outpatients as well as inpatients of the Wollongong Hospital Children's Ward and Neonatal Unit as well as paediatric and adolescent inpatients from other ISLHD hospitals.


Investigations are performed in the paediatric EEG suite within the Wollongong Hospital Children's Ward and in the inpatient unit itself as required.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500.
