We have a new opportunity to join our Resource Development team as a Technician Field Hydrogeology supporting a wide range of projects across the Pilbara.
The Technician Field Hydrogeology will be responsible for the collection of technical water related data from RTIO’s Pilbara-wide monitoring network.
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor and working 8 days on; 6 days off roster, you will have:
Work collaboratively with Lead Hydrogeologists to support ongoing execution of water related monitoring SoW’s.
Collection of groundwater and surface water data from a network of monitoring sites across the Pilbara.
Maintain adherence to scientific method during the collection of water quality samples in accordance with RTIO and relevant regulatory guidelines.
Arrange and oversee timely dispatch of samples to accredited testing laboratories.
Maintenance and care of field equipment to enable the safe and efficient collection of data and samples.
Organisation of logistical support for monitoring programmes.
Promoting positive behaviour and a supportive safety / team culture.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Experience in hydrogeological field data collection and site monitoring
1-3 years mining or professional work experience
Relationship building skills coupled with your ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of business partners will also ensure your success in this role
A manual ‘C’ class driver’s licence
Computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word Document, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) and reporting and analytics skills

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.
The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
