About the position
Reporting to the Works Coordinator Civil, the Trainee Civil Construction will gain practical skills such as roads, structures and furnishings construction and maintenance, you will learn general civil labouring skills, plant and equipment operation safely whilst working to obtain a Certificate III in Civil Construction (RII30920).
The Trainee Civil Construction position is full time employment for two (2) years and the proposed study will be a Certificate III in Civil Construction (RII30920).
Key Responsibilities
Undertake a two-year traineeship, including completing the Certificate III in Civil Construction (RII30920), with satisfactory results in theory and practical assessments
Participate in a structured training program to develop civil construction skills within the Civil Works Team
Assist with the construction and maintenance of roads, structures and public infrastructure in a safe and efficient manner
Perform duties across a variety of outdoor work sites, including pedestrian and vehicle traffic zones
Safely operate designated road and drainage construction and maintenance plant, tools and equipment as directed
Perform other duties as directed that are within the limits of your skill, training and competence

About You
- School Certificate or equivalent.
- Current Drivers Licence (minimum NSW Provisional P1 Licence or equivalent).
- White card - general construction induction card (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong willingness to learn and the ability to successfully complete a Certificate III over the course of up to 2 years.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Card (or willingness to obtain).
- Commitment to complete induction and training programs for safe operation of all equipment.
