**The Role**
We are currently seeking a motivated Trainee Dental Assistant to join our growing team, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent full-qualification role as the practice expands. This is an exciting opportunity to specialize in surgical dentistry. As a trainee Surgical Dental Assistant, your responsibilities will include assisting our oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the operating room across various hospitals and within our practice for local anesthesia procedures. You will be integral in managing patient care throughout their surgical journey, maintaining stringent infection control standards through the sterilization of instruments and equipment, and providing comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative instructions. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing and organizing surgical setups and ensuring the operating room is well-equipped, as well as maintaining accurate patient records.
**About You**
Candidates must be enrolled in an approved Certificate III in Dental Assisting course. Note that this role involves travel across work sites across Melbourne metro, and access to private transport is strongly recommended. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have prior experience in Dental Assisting and/or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, along with a strong understanding of infection control practices. Essential qualities include strong empathy and patient care skills, excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
