Obodo is a dynamic and fast growing furniture supplier specialising in delivery of contract furniture for hospitality and workplace fitouts. Products supplied are either sourced directly from our overseas suppliers, local wholesalers or manufacturers.
Based in Padstow, NSW the company is going through a growth period and we are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join the team as Warehouse Storeman / Leading Hand
Job Summary: Warehouse Storeman
The position is an integral position encompassing:
- Pick and Pack of furniture order
- Stock movement control
- Furniture assembly
- Unload shipping containers
- Receive and dispatch orders
- General warehouse duties
- Forklift
- Manage transport contractor
- Manual handling - lifting, moving, quality checking, packing, unpacking and storing of stock
- Picking and allocation of stock for orders
- Preparation of orders for delivery
- Assisting with the receipt of incoming goods
- Maintaining correct inventory stock levels
- Packing of outgoing goods to ensure safe dispatch
Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness in and around the warehouse.
- Freight quotes and bookings
It requires high degree of organization skills, self-motivation, dedication and commitment to ensure the company’s projects are delivered in a smooth and efficient manner.
Transparent processes, attention to detail, follow up and communication techniques are key to this role.
The role involves a significant amount of assembly commercial furniture. Experience with tools is a must. May suit an ex-furniture removalist looking for a change of pace.
Reporting to the Distribution Manager your leading hand duties will includes prioritizing daily and weekly task and managing a small team of warehouse staff.
Hours are between 8.30 am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday at Padstow NSW
Experience and Key Skills:
- 3 years minimum experience in warehouse work
- Ideally experience in high end commercial furniture
- Good with your hands and tools. Experienced furniture assembler
- Basic handyman skills
- Time Management and ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong work ethic. Desire to do a job well.
- Willing to lift furniture and assist with unloading trucks, organising furniture deliveries.
- Commitment to WH&S policies and procedures
- Forklift and driving licence
- Supply chain management. Delivery coordination from multiple sources.
- Work to deadlines. Clear communication.
- You must be a problem solver and take pride in your contribution to the business
- Ideally residing within a 30 minute commute.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $600,000.00 per year
