KWM is looking for a Word Processing Operator to join our national Word Processing team on a part-time basis. This role has the flexibility to be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane!

Role Detail
Join our team as a dedicated and efficient Word Processing Operator, working 8:30am to 4:30pm Wednesday to Friday on an initial 12-month fixed term contract (some flexibility on working hours and days is available). As a Word Processing Operator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely word processing services across the firm in a fast-paced environment.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Producing legal documentation with precision, adhering to KWM styles, precedents, and formats as required by legal staff and practice assistants across all groups
- Utilising the Word Processing (WP) portal for efficient work entry and collaborate with word processing operators to meet deadlines and fulfill author requirements
- Managing and prioritising your workload effectively, coordinating with relevant parties to ensure timely completion of documentation
- Handling telephone calls professionally and promptly, in accordance with the firm’s policy
- Participating in ongoing computer skills training, software and refresher courses to maintain a high level of expertise and ensure skills are transferable across the firm
This role can be worked fully remote from home, with technology equipment provided to set you up for success.
About You
- Advanced proficiency in Word and PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills, along with a comprehension of legal terminology
- Advanced transcribing and Digital Dictaphone skills
- Familiarity with other software, including Jigsaw, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Drawing, and iManage
- Typing speed of at least 70 wpm with a minimum accuracy of 98%
- Exceptional proofreading abilities
- Ability to produce documents swiftly and accurately while meeting deadlines
- Capacity to deliver high-quality work under pressure
- Efficient handling of large volumes of documentation and prioritise workloads appropriately
- Flexible, reliable, and capable of working effectively in a team environment
- Service-oriented and willing to assist others
- Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience as a Word Processing Operator or similar role
