An opportunity exists for an experienced Workers’ Compensation professional in our Workplace Risk Practice in Melbourne to provide consultancy advice to our clients, as well as drive the business development strategy. The Workplace Risk Practice is the leading provider of strategic workplace risk services to Australia’s Top 500 companies.
Reporting to the Victorian State Manager (Workplace Risk), the primary focus of this role will be to provide an innovative and flexible approach to clients’ workplace risk programs, present solutions and recommend improvements in their performance. In addition, this role has a focus on business development to achieve growth both organically and through new and innovative opportunities.
The Role
- Project management of our national clients’ workplace risk programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services
- Provide our clients strategic advice in policy, premium, claims and injury management
- Providing Outsourced Return to Work support services for a range of clients
- Report writing and implementation of client retention strategies
- Support the Insurance Brokers as a technical expert in all aspects of Workers’ Compensation
- Manage company profile with industry contacts by identifying and maintaining strategic relationships in all key markets
- Engaging our strategic partners to deliver value to our Company
- Be an active member of our consultancy team, willingly working on assigned projects and developing team members’ knowledge and skills
- Identifying new business opportunities for the Company
- Tender submissions and presentations
The Requirements
- Extensive experience working for a national employer, a broker, WorkCover or a senior position within a WorkCover insurer/agent
- Experience in National Workers’ Compensation arrangements and the key drivers to premiums
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of policy and premium management across the National Workers’ Compensation landscape
- Experience in developing and executing a new business strategy
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Experience in supervising, coaching and mentoring team members
- Proven ability to organise, prioritise, project manage and work well under pressure
- A team player with the ability to demonstrate credibility and gain trust
- A tertiary qualification in Allied Health, or equivalent work experience desirable
- Workers compensation self-insurance experience is desirable
