Our school opened in 2022 with brand new facilities and is growing steadily. In 2025, the College has Year 7 - 10 student cohorts. We will add a year level every year following. Role
The youth worker role works directly with individuals and groups of students to provide direct support or intervention to address barriers to engagement and learning.
It is expected that a person in this position will:
Be an effective and dynamic team member and develop cooperative working relationships

Liaise and consult with the Sub School Team including Assistant Principal, Student Services Manager and Year Level Leaders to best support the students and their families.
Demonstrate high-level communication skills and professional behaviour when interacting with parents, students and colleagues - including listening and speaking skills which result in people being at ease, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in writing
Demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of the learning, motivational and academic needs of students and a proven capacity to work effectively with them and the adults with whom they come into contact, using appropriate problem solving techniques
Demonstrated personal qualities of confidentiality, empathetic understanding, warmth and genuineness, patience, tact, self-acceptance, openness, reliability and assertiveness, as well as being non-judgemental, supportive, positive, encouraging and respectful of the dignity of people
Contribute to a positive, caring and supportive school image in the community
Responsibilities
Specific Duties - Management
Responsible for the effective coordination, delivery, evaluation and refinement of student services.
Ensure all programs are in alignment with the Colleges strategic plan
Prioritise the immediacy of short-term, long-term and periodic intervention of student support services in accordance with student needs
Provide case management support to identified students, including attending individual care team meetings and class student review meetings.
Ensure that timely and regular Student Support Group Meetings/ Care Team Meetings are conducted for students whom require this level of support/ intervention.
Ensure good communication is maintained between school and home for students working with Student Services Centre
Facilitating student participation in programs or activities that foster life, recreational skill and network building.
Build and maintain networks and partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders to achieve practical and meaningful social-emotional and wellbeing supports for young people.
Support the facilitation of external support providers within the school. Ie supporting Tier 2 interventions facilitated by external service.
Specific Duties - Administration
Refer students to specialised services when needed
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the Colleges policies and procedures, particularly relating to students who require case management
Assist in communication strategies to ensure staff and students are kept informed of relevant changes to policy and course requirements
Develop and provide regular reports as required
Complete case notes on a daily basis.
Undertake special tasks or contribute to events as required
Pro-actively share information and identify and escalate any issues, difficulties or problems; follow up to ensure that any issues are resolved and communicated appropriately
Qualifications Desired:
- Desired tertiary qualifications in areas of youth work, social work, community development or similar.
