What you'll be doing
The Aboriginal Health Practitioner will provide a range of direct clinical services as defined by the agreed Scope of Practice and primary healthcare functions for the community in which they work.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Certificate IV in Aboriginal Health Care (Practice)
- Registration: Current Registration with AHPRA as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner

- Being Female is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 31 respectively of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW)
Selection Criteria:
- Holds or aspires to hold a Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or Aboriginal Family Health or other equivalent qualification in a health-related field relevant to the role. For an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, holds a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and a current authority to practice as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner
Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience in working with multidisciplinary team and to liaise with other health professionals and external agencies to facilitate integrated care for Aboriginal people.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, time management, and computer literacy including word processing and data entry skills.
- Active involvement in the local Aboriginal community, with demonstrated understanding and commitment to improving the health issues impacting on Aboriginal women, families and babies.
- Ability to work unsupervised, use own initiative and take a lead role in initiating and carrying out community screening activities.
- Current NSW Driver’s license and willingness to use for work purposes
