We have a vacancy for an Advocate, a key role within the Claims and Advocacy team responsible for the submission of DVA (Department of Veterans' Affairs) claims and representation at the Veterans' Review Board (VRB), ensuring the delivery a professional service that meets the needs of all clients.
The position encompasses both strategic and operational elements and ensures the service provides the highest quality customer-centered care for veterans and their families.
You will also:
Actively strive to exceed expectations through excellent service, consultation, and continuous improvement
Demonstrate an empathetic and flexible approach in all actions
Liaise with key external stakeholders, related services, and agencies associated with DVA
Participate in projects aligned with strategic/operational plans and embrace the change process
Take responsibility for the delivery of work outcomes associated with the preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims/appeals for compensation and entitlements from DVA & VRB.
Who are you:
Compensation Advocate Level 3 (or working towards)
Working knowledge of all defence entitlements under appropriate legislation and Veteran's Review Board policies and practices
Completion of /or willingness to complete courses relevant to the role
Understanding of defence-related illnesses and conditions
Ability to establish and build meaningful relationships internally and externally
Highly developed communication skills and the ability to prioritise, manage and problem solve
