Proptec is a family-owned wholesale horticultural supply company based in Southeast Queensland. We manufacture and distribute substrates, trays and machinery used for propagation and final growing. Proptec is the Australian partner for Ellepot in Denmark and Logitec in Netherlands for which we distribute machinery for propagation and integrated substrate mixing lines. Our customers range from wholesale nurseries in amenity horticulture and commercial orchards as well as vegetable, cut flower and hydroponic producers. We pride ourselves in being able to offer customers solutions based on years of experience using the products we offer. Proptec is a relatively young business however is back by 3 generations of horticultural experience.
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Examining topographical, physical and soil characteristics of farmland to determine its most effective use and identify nutrient deficiencies
- Assisting in developing new methods of planting, fertilising, harvesting and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage
- Identifying pathogenic micro-organisms and insects, parasites, fungi and weeds harmful to crops, and assisting in devising methods of control
- Analysing produce to set and maintain standards of quality
- Collecting and collating data for research
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Write procedures, technical notes on quality and testing processes.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in team environments.
The skills and experience best suited to this role:
- Must have at least three years relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of soil media, fertiliser and chemicals
- Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of mediums.
- Ability to build strong relationships with the client base.

Pay: $77,000.00 per year
