About the Business Unit
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria (CV), Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
The former Dhurringile Prison within the Hume Region and located in the Northeast of Victoria, approximately 35 km from Shepparton, has been recently decommissioned. While its future purpose is still being explored, Corrections Victoria remains responsible for the upkeep of the property.
About the Role
The Assistant Farm Manager is responsible for providing a leading role in the management of the farm, which is approximately 260 hectares. Activities include; pasture development and maintenance including irrigation system maintenance, livestock management, animal husbandry, resource management, weed management and environmental sustainability.

About you
- Demonstrated experience in management of a broad acre property producing beef, sheep and crops including the ability to plan production and develop budgets.
- Detailed knowledge of animal husbandry, livestock nutrition, fodder conservation, pasture and property improvement programs.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An appropriate trade qualification and/or experience relevant to agricultural production.
Qualifications/requirements
- A current Victorian Driver's License.
- Forklift License and or Elevated Work Platform (EPP) is highly desirable.
