As the Assistant Front Office Manager you will report to the Front Office Manager and assist in the overall management and co-ordination of Front Office, including Reception, Switchboard, Duty Managers and Night Audit.
We are seeking an outstanding individual that has the following:
- At least 12 months experience as an Assistant Manager/Duty Manager in a similar property
- Willing to be very hands on with all aspects of running the Front Office department (this is a very hands on operational position which will include DM shifts)
- Proven experience in leading and effectively motivating a team
- Strong interpersonal skills both with internal and external customers
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Impeccable grooming and personal presentation
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Manage the Front Office Department in the absence of the Front Office Manager.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all guests and handle guest complaints with patience and in the most professional manner.
- Ensures all guest requests are handled promptly and professionally.
- On commencement of shift, take over cash floats and ensure both are correct. Maintain float on shift adhering to Hotel policy and procedure.
- Attend to Reception duties such as check-ins, check-outs, account settlements, currency exchange, and guest inquiries. Answer incoming calls from desk phones and connect as necessary, according to policies and procedures.
- Carries and is responsible for the Hotel Master Keys.
- Check in guests as quickly and efficiently as possible. Ensure all relevant information is communicated to arriving guest.
- Complete shift audit, balance all cash and foreign currency, hand over floats to incoming Guest Service Agents and bank all cash.
- Liaise closely with and build relationships with other department heads such as Housekeeping, Maintenance and F&B to ensure rooms and the hotel is managed in accordance to requirements.
- Liaise with Reservation & Sales team regarding any changes in arrivals, departures, groups and VIP's.
- Manage and train front office staff.
