Are you an experienced building maintenance professional looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? The City of Stirling is seeking a proactive and skilled Facility Works Officer to join our Infrastructure team and help maintain and improve our diverse portfolio of public facilities.
About the Role
In this dynamic role, you’ll manage minor works projects, supervise contractors, and ensure maintenance activities are delivered efficiently and to high standards. You’ll be responsible for procurement, inspections, and stakeholder engagement, all while contributing to the City’s commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and delivery of minor works projects.
- Prepare IFQs including scope, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct regular building inspections and identify maintenance needs.
- Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with WHS legislation.
- Monitor work orders and ensure timely completion to meet KPIs.
- Authorise invoices and evaluate quality of work.
- Provide advice and estimates to other business units.
- Contribute to the renewal program and prioritise replacements.
- Act in the role of Facility Maintenance Supervisor when required.
- Attend after-hours callouts as needed.
About You
You’re a hands-on professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in building maintenance, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. You’re organised, solutions-focused, and confident managing contractors and workflows.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
- Relevant trade, Facility Management or Construction Certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building/facility maintenance
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven experience in minor works management and supervision
- Knowledge of WHS and construction standards
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
- National Police Clearance (under 3 months)
- Current Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
- Experience managing a large portfolio of public buildings (+50)
