We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Positive Behavior Practitioner to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of clients across diverse settings.
Job Description
As a Positive Behavior Support Practitioner, you will work with clients, families, and support teams to develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans. Your role will focus on understanding and reducing challenging behaviours while promoting skill development and enhancing the quality of life. You will be based at home and will go out to visit people in their homes, schools, workplaces, programs, and in the community.
You will support vulnerable members of the community by acting as an advocate and role model. On a daily basis, you will be.
- Evaluating, developing, and delivering evidence-based support plans
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices
- Building the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
Role Requirements
- Qualifications: Relevant qualification in an allied health background or behavioural science.
- Experience:
- Entry level - relevant qualification and some transferable skills.
- Core BSP: 1+ year in behaviour support.
- Senior BSP: 2+ years with team leadership experience (for senior roles).
- Demonstrated Skills: Experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Checks:
- You are registered with the NDIS as a suitable Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Police Check.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- NDIS Worker Screening.
- Licenses: Current driver’s license.
- Minimum of 2 References
- Must have own Laptop, Phone & Car
Responsibilities
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments and create comprehensive behaviour support plans.
- Provide direct and indirect support to NDIS participants, including training and implementation of strategies.
- Assist in reducing restrictive practices in line with NDIS guidelines.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Lead and support junior behaviour support practitioners (senior roles).
- Engage in professional development and uphold DC4U clinical standards.

- Expertise in Behaviour Management: Proven experience in developing and implementing effective behaviour support plans.
- NDIS Knowledge: Familiarity with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission’s requirements around restrictive practices.
- Training Experience: Ability to train and guide others in behaviour management strategies.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with individuals, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Cultural Competency: Experience working with culturally diverse populations (highly desirable).
