Newly created role for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing team. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner within Cornerstone Care Australia you may find yourself working from home, schools, participant workplaces and at times even your car. Everyday will be different as you develop meaningful relationships with NDIS participants, their families, friends and carers.
We require a multi-skilled person who likes a challenge to achieve quality outcomes for our clients. We would like someone who can resonate with our values and has a collaborative team spirit.
The Position:
This role requires individuals to have a strong foundation of knowledge in positive behavioural support and experience working with people with intellectual and/ or developmental disabilities. These are some of the things you may do as a Behaviour Support Practitioner:
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments
- Develop person-centred, evidence-informed and practical behaviour support plans
- Train and support families and other stakeholders in the implementation of behaviour support strategies, aimed at reducing or eliminating behaviours of concern
- Monitor the effectiveness of behaviour support strategies.
- Provide supervision to other PBS practitioners.
Your experience:
You will have a relevant qualification and/or experience working within the disability sector and
- deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - Evidence required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with a range of participants and stakeholders.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and correspondence in clear and concise language.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident.
- Must have strong written and computer skills.

- Valid Victorian Working with Children Check.
- Valid First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain.
- Valid NDIS screening check.
