About the role:


As the Business Intelligence Lead, you will drive data strategy by analysing and organising information to deliver valuable business insights.

You’ll set the direction for business intelligence tools and citizen development, ensuring it is supported by a clear roadmap and robust infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the long-term business intelligence strategic roadmap and enable self-serve BI capabilities across IG.
  • Design, build, and maintain BI solutions (dashboards, scorecards, analytics) using Tableau and Power BI, including BAU support and troubleshooting.
  • Lead a small team, oversee BI resources in delivery squads, and manage vendor relationships and service providers.
  • Establish and enhance governance, guardrails, and alignment with central IT standards for BI platforms.
  • Plan and prioritise team workload, manage change, releases, enhancements, and improve product performance and automation.
  • Work closely with business partners to uncover insights and deliver impactful data stories, collaborating with data engineering and product teams.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation, deliver end-user training, and provide ongoing technical support.

Skills & Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Business Information, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in data visualisation using Tableau or Power BI, with technical expertise in their administration and security.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and see the bigger picture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets, juggling numbers, and deriving actionable insights.
  • Experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or chemical industries, and familiarity with delivery methodologies like Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps.
