The Soil Conservation Service (SCS) is looking for a Business Performance Supervisor to support in leading a small team delivering a wide range of finance and administrative tasks.

Our business is unique in that we are a commercially focused business running within a government environment, and this is a high-volume role which requires the ability to balance competing needs and priorities, whilst delivering results.


About the Role

As the Business Performance Supervisor, you’ll support the Coordinator in leading a small team delivering financial and administrative support to enable smooth operations across the Soil Conservation Service (SCS). This hands-on role suits someone with experience in financial management who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll oversee key functions including project finances, reporting, supervisory of team members and records management to ensure efficient and compliant business delivery.


About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll be a confident team leader with a proactive approach to financial and administrative problem-solving. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in financial administration, including monitoring budgets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparing monthly reporting and project finances.
  • The ability to lead and support a team, with demonstrated skills in coaching, guiding, and developing capability in others.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain quality control across multiple tasks.
  • High attention to detail and sound analytical skills to identify and resolve financial or administrative anomalies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, suppliers, and auditors.
  • A working knowledge of procurement policies, project support, and records management systems.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, integrity, and customer-focused service delivery.
  • technical expertise in construction management software (for example: Oranasoft, InEight, Procure or Aconex) would be highly desirable.

You’ll also bring a sound understanding of technology relevant to finance and administration, and demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and a collaborative mindset to support broader business performance outcomes.
