Role Description
The Cancer Program Coordinator will lead a small team dedicated to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families, and communities throughout their cancer journey. The role focuses on providing culturally safe, practical, day-to-day assistance to navigate the often-complex health and community support
systems. This includes developing and maintaining strong referral pathways, mapping key stakeholders, and working closely with both medical and non-medical professionals to ensure wrap-around support for clients and their families.
Team Description
The Cancer Program provides practical day to day support and assistance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people /families and community with navigating the health and community support systems involved and around the cancer journey. This will involve stakeholder mapping, establishing referral pathways to support services and liaison with medical and non-medical staff.
Congress provides a comprehensive primary health care service to Aboriginal people in Alice Springs and nearby remote communities. Further information is available at www.caac.org.au.
To be considered for this position, you will require:

Strong understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly in relation to cancer care.

Experience working in community health, cancer services, or a related health or social service environment

Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop a team
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and establishing cross-sector partnerships
